Is Life really that precious?

  • Dec. 20th, 2008 at 6:00 PM

As you already know we're getting two puppies in a few weeks. My dad and his friend went to Austin last weekend to see them and buy them. My dad is helping his friend finance the puppies. You're prolly thinking why the fuck do that? Well the thing is, Diego (my dad's friend) has lymphoma. (Good news it's not Hodgekins). According to his doctor it's the best kind of cancer you can have. Not only that but the mailman that comes by the office everyday and comes in to shoot the shit with my mum also has cancer (I don't know the type). He's going through treatment starting next week. He has said that he just wants to die. "If I lose my eyesight, then just kill me. If I lose the use of my legs then kill me. Don't let it prevent doing my job" Those were his words that he would say to his if he went into treatment and lost the use of his eyes, legs and anything else that would prevent him from working that he wants the doc to pull the plug. He has suffered with his cancer and just wants to die after 58 years.

Lemme ask you this: Is Life that precious?

A lot of you will say "Yes it is". But what are you doing to help those with cancer? Are you donating blood, bone marrow, a kidney, etc? No? Why aren't you? Do you care?

I however think life is precious and I am for the universal health care system. I know many of you don't want to waste your tax dollars so the government can actually take care of its people. Oh no, the government is actually going to do some good instead of waste the money on another war. That is sooooo bad and that makes us socialist. -gasp- Get a brain people and come back to reality. How fucking selfish are we that we can't help out our fellow man? That we have to be given something in order to do a task. What the fuck is wrong with that picture?

Those of you that are Christian, are you not supposed to help your neighbor out? Or are you just led to help them out? Why waste your time on those that are happy with the life they lead? What about those that are truly suffering?

The fact of the matter is that......there is no cure for cancer. No cure for AIDS/HIV. What are we doing about it? Nothing. There is stem cell research but that is unethical. There is euthanasia but that is unethical. (but it's okay to euthanize pets and prisoners. :D)

If you think using stem cells is wrong then why don't you write a letter to your senator asking....no begging them to do something about the deforestation in the Amazon. There are many plants there that could help with finding a cure for cancer, diabetes, etc.

So with the upcoming holiday being an excuse to be selfish, do me one a favor and take my advice. When you make out your resolutions, try being less selfish next year and go to the local blood donating place and donate your blood. If you live or around Plano then go to Plano Senior High School in May and donate blood. There is a blood drive that happens there and it is open all day. If you are thinking about donating blood in May and are close to Plano and or Plano Senior High and are eligible to donate blood, then message me in the next few months and I'll give you directions to the school. I will be donating again next year as will some of my friends that go there.

So I leave you with this, remember to help your fellow man, not because you have to but because it makes them feel better and happier and that it will make you happy knowing that you helped save someone's life.

So have a Happy Holidays and an awesome New Year. ^.^v
